Center for Crisis Management and Collaboration
Center for research, education and competence development within the fields of preparedness and collaboration in the High North.
The center focuses on the education of students in various study programs at Nord University, at bachelor, master and PhD levels. The center contributes to a range of educational programs directed towards personnel working with preparedness in the public, private and volunteer sector.
Climate change and increased activity in the High North lead to increasingly complex issues and challenges. The center’s practical research is therefore primarily aimed at crisis management, preparedness and climate adaptation nationally and internationally.
Our network includes, among others, the Joint Rescue Coordination Center Norway, the Norwegian Coast Guard, Norwegian Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority, The Norwegian Coastal Administration, Maritime Forum Nord, UArctic, Conris and emergency services.
The center offers tailor made courses for further education of working professionals, within the philosophy of life-long learning (EVU).
At the core of the center is NORDLAB, an exercise and simulator laboratory which offers facilities in Bodø for carrying out various types of exercises, research, dialogue with emergency response actors and dissemination of knowledge.
