Kristie Mortimer (University of Auckland, NZ) is a Postdoc in Arts Education working in the dialoguing@rts project, funded by Horizon Europe. Kristie holds a PhD in Dance Studies from the University of Auckland, New Zealand, titled 'Finding Common Ground: An exploration of dance studio teachers responses to cultural difference in rural towns in Aotearoa New Zealand'. She was awarded the Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance 2020 at the University of Otago, New Zealand where she created and facilitated a six month community dance project working in a prison, schools and various community groups.


Kristie has worked extensively in dance education and community dance, engaging with diverse groups of people both in New Zealand and abroad. Her research interests include dance and arts education, pedagogies and practices in diverse socio-cultural contexts, including formal education, community dance and prisons, intercultural education and cultural difference, and ethnography.
