Morgane Harmonie Colleau
I joined Nord University's Faculty of Education and Arts (FLU) in August 2023 and have a dual role. On the one hand, I support academics with their national, EU and international research grant applications and projects (both pre- and post-award responsibilities). On the other hand, I work closely with academic and administrative staff to support the Faculty's internationalisation efforts.
I am also involved with two projects funded by the Research Council of Norway.
Professional background
I have been working in the Higher Education sector since 2015. I first worked at the University of Exeter, a Russell Group research-intensive University (UK, 2015-2020), where I was a Research Development Manager in the EU/International Team. I then joined the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU, Trondheim), where I supported scientists at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences with their national and EU grant applications (2020-2022). I also supported the set-up phase of several Horizon 2020 projects. I subsequently worked for Aalto University (Finland, 2023), where I was based at the School of Science and supported four Departments. As a Grant Writer, I had primary responsibility for coordinated Horizon Europe proposals.
After seven years in the field, I have extensive experience of providing both pre- and post-award support to scientists at different career stages, across various disciplinary areas, and for a wide range of funders. Furthermore, I enjoy developing and delivering workshops to both raise awareness of the funding landscape and support our scientists’ grant writing competences. I facilitate many of the sessions offered at Nord University (e.g. CV building, effective grant writing, grant budgeting, EU COST Actions).
I am also interested in process development and, for example, enjoy developing proposal writing tips/annotated templates for specific funding schemes. In general, I enjoy managing a demanding workload and thrive to establish effective working relationships across and beyond the institution to deliver a well-rounded support service to scientists.
Educational background
I carried out my Undergraduate Degree at the Institute of Political Science ("Sciences Po") in Aix-en-Provence (France, 2005-2008). I completed both my Master's and PhD at the University of Exeter; the former within the Politics Department (2008-2010), the latter at the Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies (2010-2016).
