The Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences

The academic portfolio of the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences includes nursing, pharmacy, paramedic and social education.

The focus areas for the Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences are practice-related research within mental health work, health and care, drug use and management, clinical nursing, management, patient safety, pedagogy and public health.
The research activity at the faculty is led by the Vice Dean of Research, Ottar Bjerkeset.

The Ministry of Health and Care Services has appointed a national center for care research. The center's mandate is to gather, produce, and disseminate knowledge about care and care work. In connection with this, five regional centers have been established. One of these is the Center for Care Research, Midt (Norwegian language web site), which places emphasis on care challenges, competence development and dissemination in municipalities. The Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences has eight of its employees associated with this center.
