SEA-EU Joint Programmes

SEA-EU has developed entirely new joint study programs, where teaching alternates between various universities in Europe, including Nord University.

SEA-EU joint programmes are higher education degrees developed and delivered by multiple universities within the SEA-EU Alliance. These programmes offer students the opportunity to study in different European universities while obtaining a single, fully recognized degree.

With such a degree, you gain a unique interdisciplinary approach and a fantastic European learning experience, both academically, culturally, and socially.

Starting September 2025

The alliance will offer four programs from autumn 2025: two master's degrees, a bachelor's degree, and a doctoral program (not yet accredited).

The programs are open to applicants both within and outside the SEA-EU alliance. All teaching is conducted in English.

  • A multidisciplinary bachelor's degree that combines economics and maritime studies. Topics such as marine pollution, overfishing, and climate change are central. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of marine ecosystems and economic growth.

    Study length: 3 years
    ECTS Credits: 180
    Cost: 1500 € per year. (4500 € in total). Scholarships available.
    Admission requirements: English level B1

  • The STORM Master’s programme trains future leaders to drive sustainable transformation through critical analysis and innovative management approaches. By integrating hands-on experiences that reconnect them with nature, students gain a deeper awareness of global challenges and their impact on organisations.

    Key competencies include:

    • Environmental Sustainability – Implementing strategies to reduce carbon footprints, optimise resource use, and minimise waste.
    • Risk Anticipation – Preparing for potential crises, learning from past events, and establishing effective management frameworks.
    • Innovation & Adaptation – Developing sustainable products and services, integrating clean technologies, and responding to environmental changes.
    • Strategic Resilience – To prepare for and respond to challenges of all kinds, including those linked to the climate crisis.

    Study length: 2 years
    ECTS credits: 120
    Cost: 3750 € per year. 12 merit-based participation costs waivers will be awarded by the STORM selection committees.
    Admission requirements: A Bachelor’s degree (EQF Level 6) or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. A B2 level of English proficiency

  • The Joint Master in Port Management and Logistics (MIPMAL) is designed in collaboration with the port authorities of the SEA-EU countries. Gain expertise in port operations, sustainable transport systems, and logistics integration.

    Throughout the program, you will develop:

    • skills in port administration and maritime port operations
    • the ability to integrate logistics processes in digital environments
    • competence in integrating logistics activities with procurement, production, distribution, transportation, storage, sales, and after-sales service
    • vision and understanding of sustainability and energy transition in ports
