Bodø students' sports club (BOSI)

Bodø is the perfect launching point for a range of adventures, regardless of the season.

  • Caving in the Northern Hemisphere's largest cathedral, Svarthammarhola,
  • Speed boat ride in the world's largest maelstrom, Saltstraumen... or scuba dive there;
  • Free skiing on one of Bodø's 1000m peaks;
  • Glacier wandering on Svartisen;
  • Berry picking in the late summer, and overnighting at a wilderness cabin;
  • Ski cross country to your lectures, with extensive cross country tracks, right up to the University's back door!


Studentinord, the student welfare organisation, can fit you out for a wander in the woods or a fishing trip to Saltstraumen.  Ask the Information Desk. Many things are free of charge!

Student cabin
Studentinord has a cabin situated in the breathtaking natural surroundings of The Salten Fjord. The cabin can be rented for a nominal fee and offers 6-8 beds and includes use of a boat with an outboard engine.

Each semester Studentinord and the International Office arrange exciting and challenging activities for students at Nord University, called Arctic Escape. In previous years, Arctic Escape has included caving, kayaking and jet boating.
