Leonie Isabelle Johann
I am a postdoc in science education at the Faculty of Teacher Education and Arts and Culture. I am a biologist, teacher educator and researcher and is passionate about communicating biology and science within a general educational context. My research focuses on building bridges between biology in particular and science in general and school subjects. I am interested in researching students' learning processes and science teachers' professional competence.
I teach student teachers at Bachelor's and Master's level in cell biology, physiology, education for sustainable development, biotechnology, philosophy of science and science education and is a supervisor at Master's and PhD level.
I defended my dissertation in 2022 with the thesis Facing educational Challenges in Molecular Life Science – A Thesis to reconstruct Cell Membrane Biology for Upper Secondary Teaching and Learning.
