Marina Prilutskaya holds the position of Head of Division in the Pedagogy and Special Needs Education Division at the Faculty of Education and Arts, Nord University, Norway.

Marina has a BA in Russian language, Russian literature, and English as a foreign language from the Rostov State Teachers' Training University in Russia (1999-2004, Diploma with Honors).

Marina has a MA in Culture and English Language Didactics from Innland Norway University of Applied Sciences (2013-2015).

Marina holds a PhD in English subject teaching from Nord University (2016-2020). The overall goal of Marina's research was to advance the understanding of the role of background languages in ELT in modern language classrooms characterized by rapidly growing language diversity among learners.

Marina has over 10 years of English teaching experience in primary and lower secondary schools in Norway and Russia, both in mainstream and Montessori schools.

Marina taught introductory courses in English language pedagogy to students enrolled in teacher training program at Nord University and a continuing professional development course in Norwegian as L2 for in-service teachers working with adult learners.

Her current teaching responsibilities include MA courses in philosophy of science and research design/methodology.

Other teaching assignments include instruction in the course PRO9014 Science of Professions, focusing on language, relationships, and actions. The course is offered as part of the coursework in the PhD in Science of Professions at Nord University.

Marina previously served as the study programme coordinator for the Master in Adapted Education​ programme and as the leader of the advisory board for three MA programmes at Nord University.

Marina's responsibilities include supervision of MA students admitted to the programme Master in Adapted Education at Nord University.

Marina previously served​​ as a member of Education Committee at the Faculty of Education and Arts at Nord University.​

Marina is a member of the research group "Learning in interaction in diverse settings" at the Faculty of Education and Arts at Nord University.

Marina's academic interests include ELT, bilingual/multilingual education, translation, translanguaging, metalinguistic awareness, intercultural competence, and pedagogical theories on learning as a social phenomenon.
