About me

I obtained a MSc degree in Biology with a specialisation in ”Evolution, Biodiversity and Conservation” from Leiden University in the Netherlands. During my internships I did research on the population divergence and adaptive potential of shelled pteropods (Mollusca, Gastropoda: Thecosomata). In 2017 and early 2018 I worked as a project assistant for Naturalis Biodiversity Center, a Dutch museum of natural history and research center on biodiversity. Here, I worked on the design and application of RNA probes for targeted sequencing in shelled pteropods.

Currently, I am working as a PhD fellow at Nord University as a member of Joost Raeymaekers’s lab. My research focuses on the evolutionary ecology and adaptive responses of the three-spined and nine-spined stickleback. In addition, I am involved in the project group for ”Student Active Learning” where we work on the application of new teaching approaches in the BSc in Biology study programme.

Besides my PhD project I am committing 50% of my time assissting other ongoing projects here at Nord University.
