During the course of 1993 – 2013 I was working as a research scientist in NOFIMA. I was a member of the Aquaculture Protein Centre (2003-2012), a centre of excellence under the NRC, Feed ingredient and processing unit. I have also held an adjunct position as associated professor at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (2006-2013).

Kompetanseområder // Field of expertise

My field of expertise is fish nutrition, novel feed ingredients and feed manufacturing technology.

Undervisning & Veiledning // Tuition, Lecturing & Supervision experiences

My teaching includes topics at Bachelor, Master and PhD level within fish nutrition and aquaculture technology. I am also a lecturer at the life long learning programme, Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture.

Graduate students: Since 2004 I have been the supervisor of 6 BSc Thesis's, 22 MSc. Thesis's and 3 PhD Thesisi's. I am currently supervising 3 PhD students.

Forskningsinteresser // Research interests

My research interest include fish nutrition, optimising use of novel feed ingredients, feed manufacturing technology and effect of processing on nutritional and physical quality of feed. I have carried out research with extrusion processing technology and alternative feed manufacturing technologies, and studied the effect on feed utilization. More recently my research is mainly focusing on novel feed ingredients and effect on fish health and utilization of the feed. The main fish species I have been working with is Atlantic salmon, but also other fish species such as Wolffish and Lumpfish are used as models in my research.
