Guest lecture: Collaborative, participatory and comparative methodologies in Arctic research - what, how and why?
Associate professor Carina Ren from Aalborg University will be visiting Nord University on November 26th.

Carina Ren is an associate professor at the Techno-Anthropology Lab at Aalborg University. She is also the Head of her university's cross-faculty Arctic platform, AAU Arctic. Carina works at the intersection of socio-ecological and climate changes in the Arctic, using tourism as a prism to explore societal and cultural change, adaptation and innovation. Her research is primarily based in Greenland where she has experimented with collaborative methods. In her talk, Carina will reflect on outcomes and conundrums of these approaches and also discuss the growing need and potential for 'situated comparisons' in Arctic social science.
The event is organized by the Arctic Research Group, AAU Arctic Aalborg University and TANTlab.
