Data Management Plan (DMP)—Boon or bane?

Data Management Plan (DMP)—Boon or bane?
A deep dive into research data management

In this webinar series, the attendees will get detailed information on specific topics in research data management. This is aimed at helping researchers make better use of their time and effort for fulfilling the requirements of major research funders and research-conducting organizations. While Nord University Library provides real-time guidance on these issues at courses, seminars, webinars and one-to-one meetings, being better informed on these topics will make it easier to understand and comply with the requirement of managing data in accordance with the FAIR principles.

About the topic (Data management plan)

Data management plan (DMP) is a live document that helps a researcher manage research data throughout the project. In addition, it is a tool that helps in making data findable and reusable after the end of the project. In short, it helps researchers comply with FAIR data principles in accordance with the requirements of major research funders in Norway (e.g., Research Council of Norway, Horizon Europe) and Nord University). In this webinar, we will discuss the following:

  • What is a DMP?
  • Why write a DMP? Should I write one?
  • Who benefits from a DMP?
  • How to write a DMP?
  • Storage and archiving DMPs
