The conference will open with a reception on Monday afternoon, June 20th, 2022. 

Full day of meetings with plenary and parallel sessions will be held on the campus of Nord University Business School on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21st – 22nd.

​​Nord University invites you to participate in the 29th annual conference of CIMaR which will showcase unique business and cultural attractions of Bodø, the surrounding region, and the beautiful Northern coastline of Norway.

The 29th annual meeting of CIMAR will offer a fantastic experience. You will be exposed to the unique economic and business landscape of this Nordic region, and learn about the progress Norway has made towards a sustainable economy over the recent years. Participants will enjoy breathtaking scenery of a Northern destination.

CIMaR has served as an informal and effective networking community for international marketing scholars, and new participants are always welcome. Participants originate from over 20 countries and include doctoral students. For nearly three decades, CIMaR has provided an excellent platform for both established and junior scholars to exchange ideas and form lasting research collaborations. Sessions are organized for both completed research and new project proposals that are under development.

There is an opportunity to participate in a RIB (rigid inflatable boat) tour to Saltstraumen during your stay. Thursday, June, 23rd would probably be the best option. Saltstraumen is one of the world's strongest tidal currents, with whirlpools that can grow up to 10 metres in diameter and 5 meter in depth at the strongest.  We have agreed on a special price for our guests, but we have limited reservations, with 12 places and otherwise a waiting list. If this is of interest, please let us know as soon as possible, and no later than by June 9th. The price is 850 NOK per person. ​​


We would like to invite for submissions full papers and extended abstracts (max. 3000 words). In addition, this year we encourage young researchers (master students and PhD candidates) to submit their pieces of research for poster presentation. ​

For poster presentations, you should submit an extended abstract with a reference POSTER PRESENTATION.​



S. Tamer Cavusgil Best Paper Award

As in the past, the overall best conference paper will be honoured with the S. Tamer Cavusgil Best Paper Award, in honour of CIMaR co-founder, Professor S. Tamer Cavusgil, Georgia State University. The winner will be announced at the conference dinner on Wednesday, June 22nd, 2022, and the author(s) of the best paper will receive a monetary award in the amount of $1,000 USD. ​

Travel and acommodation

While making travel arrangements, participants should take into consideration that the conference will start with an unformal gathering on Monday, June 20th, while registration and official opening ceremony are planned for the morning on Tuesday, June 21st.  

A special conference rate has been secured for CIMaR 2022 participants at Radisson Hotel in Bodø. Please, use the booking code: N108786 while making a reservation. Please, note that the deadline for booking a room using the conference rate is May 20th, 2022.​​
