About the thesis
Copepods are an important link between algae and larger animals in the ocean. Through the work with the thesis “New insights into Calanus glacialis and C. finmarchicus distributions, life histories and physiology in high-latitude seas”, which will be defended at UNIS on November 20th, Hatlebakk has compared the Arctic C. glacialis and the Atlantic C. finmarchicus, which is transported into the Arctic by the warm ocean currents, to investigate how their respective adaptations to the seasonal variations in light and food affect their success in a changing Arctic.

The PhD trial lecture and defence are open to the public. The thesis is available upon request. Please contact Jeanett Stegen: jeanett.stegen@nord.no
