January 3: No on-site teaching until January 18
The Norwegian Government has announced that classes may only be taught online until January 18. Students who have traveled away from campus for Christmas holidays are asked to postpone their return if possible.
Professional practice placements will go ahead as planned. Campus buildings and libraries will remain open to students. National and local guidelines for infection prevention and control must be followed at all times.
December 17: International travel and travel quarantine:
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (UD) advises against all international travel that is not absolutely necessary. This global travel advice from UD is valid until January 15th, 2021.
Prior to travelling you should familiarize yourself with the current infection situation, both where you are departing from and at your travel destination.
Anyone returning from red countries or areas must stay in quarantine for 10 days after arriving in Norway. This precaution is known as travel quarantine.
Please note the following if you are travelling abroad:
- Travel quarantine can entail unforeseen expenses.
- Accommodation with shared kitchen/bathroom facilities is not approved for travel quarantine.
Students who have been on holiday in red countries and who return to Norway must cover the costs of their stay in hotel quarantine.
The university will only cover hotel quarantine expenses for new international students who are pursuing a bachelor degree, master degree or PhD. in Norway, and for new international exchange students in Norway.

November 6: Nord University is introducing stricter measures to control transmission of the virus. This affects teaching and examinations at all our campuses. Students must check Canvas for more information.
November 4: Physical sessions on session-based study programmes in 2020 are cancelled
Nord University follows the national and local advise for infection control. Based on an overall assessment of national advise and an increasing number of COVID-19 infections, the university has decided to cancel on-campus sessions on all session-based study programmes. This applies from November 9th and throughout 2020.
The faculties will consider alternative teaching activities that can or should be arranged for the students affected to be able to achieve the expected learning outcome in their studies and receive the necessary follow-up.
Students will receive further information from their faculty about how alternative teaching activities will be carried out.

October 27: Reduced capacity on buses in BodøThe buses are now reducing their capacity. This has consequences for the capacity at buses to and from campus at Mørkved. Nordland County Council encourages all passengers to consider alternative transport.
Teaching will continue as normal. Students that rely on public transport, are asked to allow extra time and consider avoiding rush hours. Students who are unable to attend mandatory teaching or professional training, must contact their student adviser.
October 21: Guidelines for events and social gatherings
Social gatherings and events for students and employees at Nord University are allowed.
Alcohol at events arranged at Nord University premises is only allowed at events arranged by Studentinord or by external organisers.
Events must at all times follow the regulations from NIPH.
