Rector Hanne Solheim Hansen announced today that Nord University’s campuses will remain closed until Monday, April 13, 2020.

Nord University is focused on contributing to national efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Preventing transmission is the university's number one priority, as is the health and wellbeing of our students and staff. Nord aims to ensure the greatest possible degree of continuity in education. The university is also focused on contributing both staff and other support to health services.

On Thursday, March 12, 2020, the Norwegian Government announced a 14-day closure of kindergartens, schools, universities and other educational institutions.  Government authorities have subsequently introduced new and stricter measures to prevent transmission of the virus.

Nord University adheres to the instructions of national authorities at all times, and has introduced measures to prevent virus transmission. These include work-from-home for all staff members, and special arrangements for online delivery of classes. The university's campuses will be closed to students from Monday, March 23, 2020.

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Nord University commenced the transition to online classes, in an effort to ensure continuity of education. The University is now working to implement solutions for professional practice and examinations.

Nord University aims to carry out examinations in accordance with the schedule for the main examination block. It is possible that assessment forms may be altered, in accordance with the transition to digital solutions, while some examinations may be delayed. All  students will receive information about the new arrangements as soon as these are in place.

The University's emergency management team is monitoring the situation, and will adjust measures accordingly. The University is planning for the likelihood that our campuses will remain closed for the duration of the spring semester. Students and staff will receive regular updates regarding classes, professional practice and examinations.
