Low carbon in Namibia
A professor at the High North Center gave a lecture for Namibia's central bank on green energy.

This article is more than one year old.

Professor emeritus at the High North Center, Petter Nore is a sought-after speaker. Especially in the field of hydrogen and green energy.

On the third of November, he therefore gave an introduction to Namibia's central bank's annual meeting in Windhoek.

The country wants to develop its green hydrogen, gas and oil resources. Petter's topic was the development of fossil resources in a low-carbon world.

Among other things, he spoke about the status of the resource curse (the phenomenon where states rich in natural resources, such as oil, diamonds, gas and minerals, are more often exposed to war and conflict) and market prospects in a low-carbon world.

Namibia's made a presentation of the country's green hydrogen strategy. The country plans to have a production of 700,000 tons of green ammonia in 2030. This depends on exports to Europe.
