Cost of living
The website Study in Holland has been set up especially for international students. It contains a lot of practical information about studying and living in the Netherlands. According to this website, students spend an average of 800 - 1100 euros a month.
Admission requirements
Students must have completed one year of higher education, equivalent to 60 ECTS. Note that there can be additional requirements for the course you want to apply for. Here you will find the entry requirements to Saxion's courses.
Language requirements
English CEFR B1 is required.
According to Dutch law, students from non-EU/EEA/Swiss countries cannot apply for visa themselves. All applications are coordinated by the University. You can read more here: Visa-and-residence-permit
All exchange students must have valid health insurance, regardless of their nationalities. Students may be expected to purchase health care insurance for the duration of their stay, in addition to the insurance the students have from their home countries. EU/EEA students must bring their EHIC card. Non-EU/EEA students need to show that they have valid health insurance that covers their whole stay. Read more here: Insurance | Saxion
Saxion University of Applied Sciences
Saxion University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest institutions of higher education in the Netherlands, with close to 27 000 students. Saxion has three campuses in the East of the Netherlands - in the cities of Deventer, Enschede and Apeldoorn. Students from Nord University normally attend the campus in Enschede, a city located close to the border with Germany.
