Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Sul is a federal institution of free education in Brazil. It is an multicampus institution, specialized in offering professional and technological education in different areas of knowledge (biologics/human sciences/exact sciences). There are approximately 22,200 students spread across several campuses in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.

    Language requirements

    English B2 or good command of Portuguese is recommended.

    All exchange students must have valid health insurance, regardless of their nationalities. Students may be expected to purchase health care insurance for the duration of their stay, in addition to the insurance the students have from their home countries.
