How to apply for outgoing exchange

This information is for Nord University students that want to apply for an exchange.

To apply for an exchange program, you must be a degree-seeking student (bachelor's, master's, or Ph.D.) at Nord, and you must have completed 60 ECTS credits before you travel. The application portal opens on December 1st for the fall semester (and for the entire year) and on June 1st for the spring semester.

The application deadlines are January 20th for the autumn semester (and full year) and September 1st for the spring semester.

  • Log in to Søknadsweb.

Here you will have to fill out “My Profile” (including name, address etc)

    Choose “Utveksling” (exchange) admission.

  • Choose three agreements that you wish to apply to.

The faculties share some agreements and they will therefore appear several times. Remember to pick your faculty.

    Faculty abbreviations explained:

FBA: Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture

FLU: Faculty of Education and Arts

    FSV: Faculty of Social Sciences

FSH: Faculty of Nursing and Health Sciences

    HHN: Nord University Business School

Note: If you wish to go to an institution that Nord does not have an agreement with, choose the option “Individbasert mobilitet”. You must write in the comment section “extra information” which institution you wish to go to.

  • Send in your application in Søknadsweb.

A receipt will appear on the Søknadsweb page and you will receive a receipt by email.

You can make changes to your application up until the application deadline. Due to limitations on certain agreements, we cannot guarantee your first choice.

  • You will recieve an answer within 3 weeks of the application deadline. It is your responsibility to decline or accept the offer when it is published in the Søknadsweb portal. If you do not accept within a week of recieving your offer, it will be considered a withdrawal of your application.

The next step in the application process is an external application to the host institution. You will receive more information about this following your nomination. It is important to note that being nominated does not mean that you have been guaranteed a place for exchange. It is the host institution that has the final say on the outcome of your application.

If you have any questions about your application or cannot find an institution, you can contact your faculty coordinator or the International Office at Nord University.
