Lakehead University

Lakehead University, home to more than 8000 students, is a public research university with campuses in Thunder Bay and Orillia in Ontario, Canada. Lakehead is the proud host to 11 Canada Research Chairs and revolutionary facilities such as their world-renowned Paleo-DNA Laboratory and Biorefining Research Institute.
  • Academic workload

    A full workload is considered 5 courses per semester. Courses are weighted at 6 ECTS each for a total of 30 ECTS per semester.

  • Admission requirements

    Students must have completed one year of university level studies, equivalent to 60 ECTS.

    Language requirements

    A letter of attestation stating the student is proficient in English is all that is required.

  • Students may expect to purchase insurance for the duration of their stay. This will be in addition to the insurance they have from their home country.
