Documented proficiency in English language


Bachelor's degree or equivalent three/four years of financial and administrative studies. The following requirements for the combination of subjects applies:


A total of 90 credits comprising: 

  • a minimum of 30 credits of business: management accounting, financial accounting, finance and investment
  • a minimum of 25 credits administration subjects: organization, marketing, strategy and management
  • a minimum of 15-20 credits economics: microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance
  • a minimum of 15-20 credits methodology: mathematics, statistics, scientific method


Admission requires a good result (laudabilis), ie an average grade of minimum C in the admission basis. For international students minimum 2nd Class, Upper Division/B or equivalent is required.

Job opportunities

The MSc in Energy Management: International Governance and Business program qualifies students for a wide range of jobs in industry, business, and government or as a consultant. Our graduates work as CSR managers, consultants, controllers, auditors, advisors, market analysts and strategic planning managers. Relevant companies from around Norway and abroad visit Nord University Business School to recruit potential employees from our students. Many students have secured their post-graduation employment already when commencing their final year of study.

Further education

Upon successful completion of this MSc, candidates qualify for applying for admission to the PhD programme at Nord University Business School as well as at other institutions in Norway and abroad. Study abroad

The programme includes one semester abroad at the prestigious MGIMO University in Moscow, Russia. In the third semester, all students first go to St. Petersburg for language courses, followed by going to MGIMO in Moscow to take the core courses there. Students will become acquainted with different business cultures and develop their international orientation and cultural awareness. The programme includes workshops, lectures, seminars and group discussions. There will also be visits to or from international companies as well as consulting companies and authorities from the countries involved; all of which will contribute to a broad and diverse insight into the sector for the students.
