Programme description
Do you have an entrepreneurial dream, or do you want to acquire the knowledge you may need as a leader? Want to learn more about how to develop good solutions that can drive businesses forward? Or do you envision an exciting career on the stock exchange, or in a multinational company? Then this is the study programme for you.
The Business School’s attractive degree in Business Administration attracts students from the entire country, and has many international students. We educate change agents who can reflect and analyse, and use both digital and scientific tools to solve challenges. The study programme is constantly being developed to adapt to society, business and students' needs. Since its establishment in the 1980s, the Business School has provided both Norwegian, national and international business with highly competent economists/”siviløkonomer”.
As a student in Master of Science in Business, you also have the opportunity to participate in internships and HHN’s mentor program. Students who wish to do so can also contribute to research projects alongside our faculty.

Documented proficiency in English language
Bachelor's degree or equivalent three/four years of business and administrative studies. In addition the following requirements for the combination of subjects applies:
A total of 120 credits comprising:
- a minimum of 30 credits of business: management accounting, financial accounting, finance and investment
- a minimum of 30 credits administration subjects: organisation, marketing, strategy and management
- a minimum of 15 credits economics: microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance
- a minimum of 20 credits methodology: mathematics, statistics, scientific method
- a minimum of 7,5 credits ethics, CSR, sustainability
Admission requires a good result (laudabilis), ie an average grade of minimum C in the admission basis. For international students minimum 2nd Class, Upper Division/B or equivalent is required.

Knowledge
The candidate:
- holds advanced breadth and in-depth knowledge in the field of business economics.
- has in-depth knowledge of scientific theories, concepts, and models within subjects change management, strategic analysis, and valuation and profitability analysis.
- possesses specialised knowledge within a self-defined limited major: finance, management control, international marketing, or innovation and entrepreneurship.
- has insight in relevant and contemporary international research literature and applies this to new phenomena and issues within the field of business administration.
- has knowledge of relevant analytical tools and techniques to solve business ethical issues with ethical values.
- holds advanced knowledge of business research traditions and methodology, and in-depth knowledge of research ethical norms.
- possesses specialised knowledge of methods, techniques, and acceptable progression to carry out and disseminate an independent empirical research project.
Skills
The candidate:
- is specialised in analysing existing scientific theories and research methods in the field of business administration, and has the ability to critically evaluate their interpretations.
- has the ability to critically analyse and evaluate established truths, information and information sources.
- is specialised in obtaining relevant research literature and able to compile, analyse and evaluate literature.
- holds specialised competence in analysing business economics issues based on relevant theory and empirical evidence, and assessing the appropriate research methodology.
- is specialised in analysing, structuring and formulating professional reasoning and arguments.
- possesses specialised competence in implementing, producing and disseminating an independently defined research project under guidance in accordance with ethical norms within research.
General competence
The candidate:
- has the ability to produce independent analytical scientific work in line with the corporate economic tradition of academic dissemination both in writing and verbally.
- has the ability to apply scientific theories and models to illustrate business cases and issues in practice, based on ethical principles.
- has the ability to reflect and be critical of established truths, and conscious of the role of their profession in the community of ethical awareness.
- is competent to contribute to change and innovation processes in business-economic issues in a business.
- has the ability to apply their knowledge and skills to carry out advanced tasks and projects for and in collaboration with various specialised public and private professions, and nonprofit organisations.
- is specialised in analysing and evaluating business cases with relevant tools to solve practical issues.
- is specialised in discussing and communicating comprehensive business cases and an independent research project using enterprise economic expressions.
- has the ability to communicate academic issues and conclusions in the field of business administration with other specialised professions and the general public.

Students who hold citizenship from countries outside the EU/EEA/EFTA are required to pay tuition fees. The current tuition fee for this program is NOK 180,000 per annum. Please be aware that tuition fees are subject to annual adjustments, and the fee stated here may not reflect the most recent update.
Nord University does not provide grants or scholarships. However, certain students may qualify to apply for an exemption from the tuition fees.
