Motor Skills and Sport Psychology in Science

IDR2013
The course will primarily focus on research and methodologies related to the development of motor skills. Key principles and factors in the learning and control of technical skills in sport are central themes. Teaching will be conducted through various approaches that support the understanding of both practice and research. Knowledge of motor behaviour and development will be applied in practical settings and in the design of new research projects, and will be discussed across sports and motor skills more generally.

Admission to the Bachelor in Sport Science, admission to the course as an exchange student at Nord University, or admission as a single-course student subject to available spots.

The admission requirement is Higher Education Entrance Qualification.

Applicants who do not have Higher Education Entrance Qualifications and are 25 years of age or older may apply for admission based on their prior learning and work experience. Contact our Admission Office for more information.

Knowledge

The student:

  • Possesses broad knowledge of research on methods and principles for the development of specific technical skills in sport, as well as specific motor skills.
  • Is familiar with up-to-date research and empirical evidence related to training principles for the development and learning of technical performance in selected sports, as well as training principles for motor control.
  • Has knowledge of the learning process (learning psychology).
  • Possesses broad knowledge of the possibilities and limitations related to the performance development of technical and motor skills.

Skills

The student:

  • Can apply previous research and understand the practical implications of training principles for the development of technical skills in sport, and can apply and understand specific training principles for motor control and learning in various contexts.

General Competence

The student:

  • Can contribute to academic discussions with other professionals and researchers in fields related to the development of technical skills in sport, as well as motor control and learning more generally.

No tuition fees. Semester fees and cost of course literature apply.

Exception: Students with citizenship from countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland must pay tuition fees.

Tuition fees for international students

In addition to the semester fee and curriculum literature, it is assumed that the student has a laptop computer at his disposal.

The study program is evaluated annually by the students through course surveys (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). Evaluation is part of the university's quality assurance system.
