Practice Year 2 - 2 Weeks
Course content
Supervised professional training is an integral part of the programme. Supervised professional training shall be supervised and assessed and last for 10 days at a lower secondary school. Students shall observe, teach, receive supervision, attend various meetings and perform other tasks at the school offering supervised professional training. Students shall learn about the planning, implementation and assessment of learning and learning processes and develop teacher identity and professional understanding
Course learning outcomes
After completing the programme, students should have acquired the following knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge:
•possess knowledge about lower secondary education, student groups and the role of teachers
•possess an insight into the transitional phase between lower secondary and upper secondary education
•possess knowledge about the interaction between pupils and between pupils and teachers, teamwork and school/home cooperation
Skills:
•be able to use and reflect on varied and vocationally relevant working methods and teaching materials
•be able to use and reflect on varied academically and vocationally relevant working methods and teaching materials at lower secondary level
•be able to contribute their own vocational competence in collaboration with secondary school teachers
•when possible be able to participate in activities related to subjects and subject choices at lower secondary schools
General competence:
•be able to observe and reflect on learning activities at lower secondary level
•be able to interact with colleagues, school management, guardians and other parties in and outside schools
Learning activities and teaching methods
The student's task is to be an active and interested participant during supervised professional training and to take responsibility during supervision.

Attention should be paid to the role of teachers in school communities, in schools as workplaces and on becoming acquainted with schools in their capacity as organisations.
