Semester registration and attendance

Welcome to the Master of Science in Business. The autumn semester promises to be exciting​, inclusive and, not least, safe for all our students.

Registration 

You can register as  a student as soon as you receive your student number. After completing registration, you will have access to a range of digital forums and tools at Nord University. This includes digital meeting rooms and the e-learning platform Canvas. 

This year, it is especially important that you participate in digital learning arenas.

New Master of Science in Business Students are invited to attend an onsite commencement meeting in weeks 36/37.

More information will be available soon.

We recommend that you attend the meeting, in which we will provide useful information and where you will have the chance to get to know your study advisor and lecturers.

It is important that you arrive in Bodø by August 31.

Equipment

Digital learning forms an important part of education at Nord, regardless of mode of delivery.  It is important to have the right equipment. All student should have access to:

If you have special needs, including if you are in a high risk group for Covid-19, that affect your learning situation, you can apply for special arrangements in teaching and examinations.

Infection prevention and control

Program for commencement

August 31, 2020
Incoming international students should ​plan to arrive on campus for commencement of onsite classes on this date. Late arrival may lead to cancellation of admission. Please contact your academic advisor if you have questions.

New Master of Science in Business Students are invited to attend an onsite commencement meeting after August 31.

The Business School's attractive degree in business administration attracts students from the entire country and has many international students. We educate change agents who can reflect and analyze, and use both digital and scientific tools to solve challenges. The study program is constantly being developed to adapt to society, business and students' needs. The candidates in this study, which is the Business School's flagship, report that they are very satisfied with the education (The Student Barometer 2019). Since its establishment in the 1980s, the Business School has provided both Norwegian, national and international business with highly competent economists/"siviløkonomer".

Admission requirements

Higher education entrance qualification:

Documented proficiency in English language

Bachelor's degree or equivalent three/four years of financial and administrative studies. The following requirements for the combination of subjects applies:

 

A total of 120 credits comprising:

  • a minimum of 30 credits of business: management accounting, financial accounting, finance and investment
  • a minimum of 30 credits administration subjects: organization, marketing, strategy and management
  • a minimum of 15 credits economics: microeconomics, macroeconomics, public finance
  • a minimum of 20 credits methodology: mathematics, statistics, scientific method
  • a minimum of 7,5 credits ethics, CSR, sustainability

 

Admission requires a good result (laudabilis), ie an average grade of minimum C in the admission basis. For international students minimum 2nd Class, Upper Division/B or equivalent is required.

How to apply

Job opportunities

The Business School's Master of Business Administration degree is widely known and gives you a broad and applicable competence that gives you many job opportunities in both the private and public sectors. Our former students work in everything from the banking and finance industry, in accounting and auditing, industry and energy, and in ministries or other public institutions. Several of them are in senior positions or work as consultants, supervisors, and advisors. Several of our former students have also, with great success, developed their own companies. Over the years, the Business School has educated several thousand economists (siviløkonomer), and many of them are currently in leading positions in both Norwegian and international companies.

Further education

Upon successful completion of this MSc, candidates qualify for applying for admission to the PhD programme at Nord University Business School as well as at other institutions in Norway and abroad. Study abroad

As part of the programme, students can take an exchange semester at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Australia or North America. We recommend students take an exchange in the second semester. We encourage our students to travel one of our partner institutions:
