MBA in Ecological Economics

The MBA in Ecological Economics is aimed at candidates holding bachelor degrees in other fields than economics and leadership who wish to take a master level programme learning about ecological economics. Such MBA programmes are popular internationally and offer candidates career-improving development in Norwegian and international working life, both for the private and public sectors. The study programme uses a concentrated teaching session model enabling students to combine work and education over a 3-year period (part-time study).

Admission to the programme requires a bachelor´s degree (180 ECTS) and minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, obtained after the bachelor¿s degree.

If the number of applicants exceeds capacity, applicants satisfying admission requirements are ranked using the following criteria.

  • The basis for ranking is grade points and additional points. The system of grade points consists of a weighted average of the grades on the diploma, forming the basis for admission. All grades count according to the scope indicated for the subject on the diploma. Passed/not passed or equivalent grades do not count in calculating the average grade.

Additional points are given based on the following criteria:

  • Relevant experience in addition to the foundation for admission: up to 1 point per year is given for up to two years. The experience must have been obtained following successful completion of the degree forming the basis for admission to the MBA programme. For formal education exceeding the admission foundation: 1 point is given for every 30 ECTS credits, with a maximum of 2 points awarded.

Further education

The MBA in ecological economics does not automatically qualify for admission to the PhD programme.
