About the seminar
Berglund explains: In this seminar I suggest we continue our discussions on the role of entrepreneurship education in academia. Based on interests and questions during seminar 1 I will present some approaches to course and programmes – e.g. a ‘smorgasbord’ – which can help us reflect upon how we can revitalize academic education; in large and in small.

To give an idea for how I think about entrepreneurship in the university setting I provide the following quote from a chapter on ‘the entrepreneurial university’  I´m about to wrap up with colleagues from the Linnaeus University:

[…] we have in this chapter problematized university´s relationship/s with entrepreneurship. We imagine that the reader of the chapter could easily start to think: let´s skip to address university as entrepreneurial. That would indeed be an opportunity. To address the university as something else. However, that does not mean that we can escape entrepreneurial discourses, neither can we avoid the progress of neoliberalism and its impact on individuals, organizations and societies. Nor can we hinder totalitarian ideological attempts to restrict entrepreneurial liberalism. Instead populism could take part in setting unexpected boundaries, which may put even more restraints on research. So, we need both strength and nerve to stay firm and learn about the effects generated when we are swept away by the cheers of entrepreneurship without neglecting the problematic relation between university and entrepreneurship. We therefore need more research into how these relationships have emerged. Because we believe it needs to be described in plural. We not only have one template for the university as entrepreneurial – there are many ways for imagining this. Writing this chapter has evoked questions, not only for how we want to inhabit research life, but for how we can study the very context we inhabit.
