Om meg/bakgrunn

I am a PhD Candidate in Sociology, researching Universal health policy and maternal health services for immigrant women in Norway.

My interest in this topic stems from my diverse education, personal and professional backgrounds that have taken me across disciplines and the world.

I completed my Honors Bachelor of Science (H.B.Sc.), majoring in Global Health and Animal Physiology at the University of Toronto (Canada) in 2014.

A year later, I moved to Europe to start an Erasmus Master's program in Social Work with Families and Children (M.S.W). During this program, I spent a semester at the University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal), the University of Stavanger (Norway), and the University of Gothenburg (Sweden) respectively, before going back to the University of Stavanger to complete my dissertation in 2017.

Some of my research interests include:

Cross cultural health; Health policy, Sociology of health; Maternal health; Migrant health; Universalism; and the Welfare state.
