EduSmart: Education and Knowledge Development for Smart City Governance and Performance Management in the High North (2021-2023)

Description

The primary objective of the EduSmart project is to enhance our international education and research in the High North by incorporating knowledge of smart city governance and performance management. In this regard, we aim to increase the extent and enhance the quality and relevance of our scientific cooperation with international strategic partners in Russia and China.

The idea behind the EduSmart project lies under the funded research project “SMARTNORTH: Sustainable development and management by participatory governance practices in the High NORTH”.

The project was funded by the Research Council of Norway under the NORRUSS Pluss programme. In this project, the research group from Norway, Finland, USA and Russia produced a knowledge base of participatory governance initiatives under the smart city agenda and their potential effects on the sustainable development of High North communities.

The EduSmart will utilize the knowledge developed in the SMARTNORTH project to prepare future public managers, politicians, citizens, entrepreneurs, activists, consultants, managers and directors.

Among the activities of the EduSmart project are three workshops, one joint master’s course, and two joint PhD courses as well as related student and staff mobility.
