A Ukrainian Advent at HNC

It has been quite an Ukrainian Advent at The High North Center for Business and Governance.

​The first week of December, The High North Center for Business and Governance (HNC) had the wonderful opportunity to welcome representatives of the Ministry of Veteran Affairs and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, The International Foundation for Social Adaptation and Chernihiv National University of Technology to Nord University in Bodø. 

The occasion was a seminar devoted to the preparation of the new application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway, that is currently financing the Project of Re-training and Social Adaptation of Military Officers and their family members in Ukraine.




10 000 has been helped

The main idea of the new application is integration of the developed professional adaptation model into the state system of Ukraine. During the seminar in Bodø, the Ministry of Veterans and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine expressed their interest in cooperation and further integration of the project into the state system, and co-financing.

Since the project started, it has helped more than 10 000 former Military Officers with social adaptation and retraining. During 2015 all the way to present day, almost 5 000 participants has joined the project.  An independent international examination of the project, carried out in 2018, confirmed the effectiveness of the five-year phase of the project.


Successful Graduation

The week after the delegations trip to Bodø, researcher Olga Iermolenko travelled to Kyiv in Ukraine to visit Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Faculty of Economics to attend a graduation seminar of the Joint Norwegian-Ukrainian International Project called “Internal Control in the COSO framework: Application to the university sector”.

The pilot group has successfully completed the online course in internal control, that was jointly developed by Nord University Business School, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ternopil National Economic University and Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. 22 graduates defended their graduation projects and received their certificates.
