Project X
The Project X course is designed to expose the student to the dynamics of the industry or the wider academic community. Each student will be supported by a designated mentor from the academic team here in Nord. Project X provides the opportunity for a student to complete an internship with an industry partner, spend a semester studying abroad at a partner university or engage in an interdisciplinary project within the university.
Having the opportunity to engage with a wider international community, rich with cultural diversity, is a very valuable preparatory mechanism promoting interdisciplinarity, employability and transition into a future career. For those students who choose to remain on campus, we have good contacts with local industry and research groups that the student can engage with on live projects for an ‘international at home’ experience.
On successful completion of the course, students should be able to:
Knowledge
- Analyse roles within a computer graphics pipeline.
- Justify work processes to accomplish specific tasks within a collaborative project.
- Evaluate the quality of output from a project.
Skills
- Fulfil a specific role with some level of expertise within collaborative project related to computer graphics.
- Present a portfolio of work that shows active contribution to a project.
General Competence
- Develop professional working relationships through active participation in a collaborative CG production.
- Assess their own performance working as part of a collaborative team.
- Assess the outcome of a collaborative project.
Compound Assessment:
Portfolio 50%
Report 50%
In the event of a student studying abroad, a transfer of study points will be accepted in recognition of an equal volume of work.
