The course provides an insight into professional development and making games for social impact and education. It prepares students for the first steps towards a career in the gaming industry, addressing a range of topics from job search and networking to low budget funding and marketing. Student also get basic insight and competence in game design for social impact and education.
The course provides an insight into professional development and making games for social impact and education. It prepares students for the first steps towards a career in the gaming industry, addressing a range of topics from composing a good CV and how to build relationships with industry contacts and representatives, clients and partners - to social networking and low budget funding and marketing. It addresses work ethics, representation, diversity and inclusion both within the game industry workforce and its’ products, as well as other ethical and social factors and corporate social responsibility. The fundamentals of game design for social impact, education and gamification are also presented. The course highlights university level study techniques and provides a foundation for basic academic writing.

Mandatory
Classes will take place on-campus, online, or a combination of both. Classes may be organized as weekly class and/or as intensive block workshops. Teaching approaches and class work will include lectures, group work, workshops and various types of tests and assignments - including a field excursion and real life practices such as signing up for and parttaking in conferences and being strategically active on social media
The study program is evaluated annually by the students, through course surveys. Evaluation is part of the university's quality assurance system.
