See study programmeThe programme develops skilled change agents with analytical skills and reflective critical thinking, which can use scientific and digital tools in practical problem solving. The programme facilitates the students to design their own study programme. With sevelral majors and electives, students can design the course of study from their own areas of interest. The programme also facilitates exchange stays at international universities.
We offer specialisation within four majors on master level:
- Management Control
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship
- Financing and Investment (Norwegian language skills necessary)
- International Business and Marketing
The first three years correspand to the Bachelor in Business Administration. In the seventh semester of the study programme, compulsory subjects will be completed, which will provide students with broad knowledge within economics, with advanced knowledge of theoretical perspectives and models within the fields of change management, strategic analysis, valuation and profitability analysis, and research methodology. The subjects develop skills to critically evaluate established theories, models, information and its sources, and the ability to illuminate business-economic business situations and issues with ethical principles. Knowledge and skills acquired in the seventh semester are continued and further developed in eight semester through a self-chosen major. The major provides both broad and deep knowledge within the self-chosen limited profile area. Students will also choose one subject from one of the other majors to acquire advanced insights into theories and models from another subject area and to be able to understand interdisciplinary issues. In the nineth semester, students go deeper into the major area, and will be prepared to apply research literature and methodology for independent research work. This semester also offers a number of electives that provide advanced insights into various phage maths. The third semester also facilitates exchange for one of our many cooperative universities in the world.
In the last semester of the study programme, the students work on independent research within the chosen major. The Master's thesis is a scientific work that will illuminate a particular business economics issue through investigation and contributions to relevant research literature. By using appropriate research methodology for collecting and analysing empirical data, students will contribute with implications to evaluation and innovation in business economy cases.
To start the master's part of the programme, the students must first complete the three years on bachelor's level.
Knowledge and understanding Upon completion of the programme, the candidate should:
- Have advanced knowledge in the field of business administration and specialized knowledge in a chosen major
- Have a thorough knowledge of theories and methods within business administration
- Be able to apply knowledge in new areas within business administration
Skills Upon completion, the candidate should:
- Be able to analyze existing theories, methods and interpretations within the field of business administration and work independently on practical and theoretical problem-solving
- Be able to interpret, critically assess and use appropriate methods in an independent manner
- Be able to master the relevant research tools and techniques
General knowledge Upon completion, the candidate should:
- Be able to apply his/her knowledge and skills in new areas to carry out advanced tasks and projects
- Be able to communicate about academic issues, analysis and conclusions within the field of business administration, both for specialists and the general public.
