External users

Anyone over 18 years and living in Norway can borrow books from the University Library.

You can use the University Library even if you are not a student or an employee at Nord University.

External users may use a national library card or obtain a library card upon presentation of valid identification at the library counter.

Because of privacy concerns library cards that have not been used in the last 12 months will be deleted from the University Library's systems.

Printed material:

You can borrow the books we have in the library, at all our locations. If you are after literature that the University Library does not have, you have to contact your local public library to order an inter-library loan.

Digital resources:

The University Library subscribes to many databases, e-journals and e-books. Because of licensing reasons access to the digital resources is limited for external users, only "walk-in-use" is available. There are search computers in the library where you can read the contents of these digital resources in the library. Contact the library staff for permission to download a document to a memory stick. Printing is not available for external users.
