The tuition fee will not affect students who were admitted to a study programme before autumn 2023, or exchange students.
Nord University does not offer scholarships or grants.
Admitted applicants will receive an invoice for tuition fees by e-mail. The invoice includes tuition fees and semester fees for one academic year.
- Tuition fees include lectures and standards examination fees. Relevant course literature for programmes is an additional cost.
- In addition to the tuition fee, full-time students must pay semester fees that include membership in The Student Welfare Organisation at your place of study.
Tuition fees must be paid in full before each academic year and it is not possible to pay in instalments. Nord university reserves the right to adjust tuition fees annually.
Due to exchange rates, you must make the transfer in Norwegian kroner (NOK). Please note that your bank may charge additional fees for international transfers.
Important: Please mark the payment with the invoice number, which is a customer identification number and will be used to identify your payment in our system. You will find the invoice number on the invoice.
The deadline for paying the tuition fee is 14 days from when you receive the invoice. The deadline for applicants from countries outside the EU/EEA/EFTA is May 1.
It may take up to three weeks for the university to register the payment, depending on the bank connection. When the university has received the payment, we will issue a statement which can be used when you apply for a study permit.
Applicants who have received an offer of admission will receive information about the exact tuition fees in their letter of admission.
The current rates are based on different study categories:
Category F - 130,000 NOK per year
Category E - 160,000 NOK per year
Category D - 180,000 NOK per year
Category C - 260,000 NOK per year
Category B - 380,000 NOK per year
Category A – 500,000 NOK per year

The provided rates apply to study programmes. For single course students the tuition fee is determined based on the subject area and the number of credits for each course compared to a full-time study.
Tuition fees are adjusted annually.
You can be eligible to apply for a full refund if the following occurs:
- If you choose to withdraw from your study programme before September 1.
- If you are not granted a residence permit by the UDI.
- If you are eligible to apply for an exemption from tuition fees prior to the start of the study year.
You can also be eligible to apply for a refund if you can document exeptional and unforeseen cases beyond your control.
You can apply for a refund by sending your application to postmottak@nord.no.
Please note that the refund will be made in Norwegian kroner (NOK). This means that the amount you receive will be subject to change according to the exchange rates between NOK and your country's currency, in addition to any fees your bank charges for international transfers.
Some applicants are exempt from paying tuition fees based on residence in Norway or other close connection to Norway. The applications are processed on the basis of the Act relating to universities and university colleges and the Norwegian rules for loans and grants.
If you are granted an exemption, you will receive a confirmation that can be used as documentation when applying for a study permit.
