Wageningen University is a part of Wageningen University & Research (WUR), and is one of the leading international universities in the field of "healthy food and living environment". Wageningen is located in a region in the Netherlands known as the Food Valley. Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are only an hour's travel by train. The university has roughly 13 000 students, is one of the most sustainable universities in the world.

  • Housing

    The number of rooms allocated to exchange students in Wageningen is limited. In most cases housing is guaranteed for non-EU students because of immigration rules. Information about how international students can find a room is gathered here.

    Cost of living

    A student will need about 950 euros per month to cover living expences.

  • Admission requirements

    Students must have completed one year of university level studies, equivalent to 60 ECTS.

  • According to Dutch law, students from non-EU/EEA/Swiss countries cannot apply for visa themselves. All applications are coordinated by the University. You can read more here: Entry-visa-and-residence-permit

    All exchange students must have valid health insurance, regardless of their nationalities. Students may be expected to purchase health care insurance for the duration of their stay, in addition to the insurance the students have from their home countries. EU/EEA students must bring their EHIC card. Non-EU/EEA students need to show that they have valid health insurance that covers their whole stay. Read more here: Insurance
