Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology

NMIT was established in 1905 as one of New Zealand’s first public tertiary education institutes. NMIT’s main campus is in Nelson’s vibrant city centre at the top of the south island. Nelson is renowned for its sunshine, beaches, festivals, markets, and is within walking distance of hills and oceans.
  • Academic workload

    60 NMIT credits are equivalent to 30 ECTS. Undergraduate courses are generally 15 NMIT credits (7.5 ECTS).

  • Tuition fee

    Limited number of tuition waivers are available through our exchange agreement. Study abroad students pay a tuition fee of NZD $9,900 + $120 student fee per semester.

    Cost of living

    NZD $7,500 per semester (including rent and all other living costs) is the standard required by Immigration NZ, and will allow comfortable living in Nelson.

  • Admission requirements

    Student must have completed one year of university level studies, equivalent to 60 ECTS.
