Information to other libraries

The University Library at Nord University offers interlibrary loans to libraries in and outside of Norway.

Students attending Nord University shall request and borrow books directly from The University Library by using Oria. This also applies to students attending online or group session based study programs.

The loan periode for books are four weeks. The loan period can be extended up to 120 days as long as the book is not requested by others.

The University Library can prioritize our main users (students and employees at Nord university) if necessary.

The University Library does not offer these materials for interlibrary loans:​

  • DVDs, CDs and audio books
  • Teaching aids
  • Material with reduced loan periods
  • Books newer than three months
  • Material in the collections at Vesterålen, Mo i Rana and Stjørdal is not available for interlibrary loans

Electronic books:

The University Library sends copies of individual chapters from electronic books we own or subscribe to.

The library also has a collection of DDAs (Demand Driven Aquisistion). Books from this collection are marked “Nord ebøker DDA" in Oria. The University Library does not send copies from books included in this collection.

Bibliotektransport (NBT)

The University Library's departments in Trøndelag use Norsk bibliotektransport (NBT) to deliver material to other libraries. The departments in Nordland use Posten to deliver interlibrary loans.

Claims of compensation:

Unreturned, lost or damaged material causes a claim for compensation. This claim will be effected 35 days after due date. This happens in compliance with the university's financial routines. The claim will have a minimum amount of 750 NOK per book. With the claim there also follows an administration fee of 250 NOK per invoice. ​
