Valuation

EK342E

The course provides a solid foundation to understand how to value assets such as equity stocks, and how to value a company as a whole. In today's competitive business environment, it is essential for students to get a critical perspective on interpretation of financial information, capital budgeting, and develop skills for recognizing the drivers of the corporate value. The first part of the course builds a foundation for implementing valuation techniques. Specifically, the course illustrates how to estimate the cost of different sources of capital, and how to use the information from financial statements to predict the firm’s future outcomes. In the second part of the course the course takes a look at several valuation techniques widely applied in practice (dividend discount, FCF valuation models, residual income models, and relative valuation).

For students who can document that the exam for CFA Level 2 s passed, the course is voided.

It is possible to apply for admission to the course as a single course. There are reservations about the available capacity on the course. The applicant must meet the current admission requirements for the Master of Science in Business program.
