Experience Pedagogy

ENT104L
Are you intrested in learning about the Norwegian educational system and the political and philosophical perspectives behind it? Is knowledge something that is transmitted - or something that is a result of participation in social and cultural processes?
This module is part of the semester package Adventure Knowledge, but can also be taken separately. It gives an introduction to the Norwegian educational system, and political and philosophical perspectives behind this system. The focus will be on efforts in Norwegian schools to change the view on learning from looking on knowledge as something that can be transmitted, to something that is a result of participation in social and cultural processes, based on activity, experience and reflection. The students will take part in study visits to kindergartens and schools and must themselves organize a one-day-program for Norwegian pupils presenting characteristic and interesting information about their own home country. This is called "The world experience day".
