Entrepreneurial Skills and Mindset

The course introduces contents related to entrepreneurship in an interdisciplinary environment. It will cover the main concepts regarding entrepreneurship and the activities within an entrepreneurial process. The course aims at helping students understand entrepreneurship and develop entrepreneurial skills. Students will be encouraged to reflect about the opportunity to create businesses as a career option.

As existing firms and new businesses depend on entrepreneurial skills to grow and succeed, this course discusses factors that foster entrepreneurial success, and the skills needed for a successful entrepreneur. At the same time, it introduces the concept of intrapreneurship, given that many students shall pursue careers within existing businesses. Entrepreneurial skills, therefore, become more important for employees and firms.

Must fulfill the requirements for admission for Master in Entrepreneurship and Business development.

Knowledge

  • Advanced understand og the importance of entrepreneurship for individuals, organizations and geographical areas;

    • Identify the broad reach of concepts and practices around entrepreneurship, in order to understand the theoretical and practical complexity present in the area;

    • Critically reflect on personal skills that characterize entrepreneurs, aiming at a reflection that contributes to the development of such competences as: creativity, leadership, interpersonal skills and others;
  • Demonstrate in depth knowledge about different activities in an entrepreneurial process. Skills
  • Understand and demonstrate ethics and responsibility when practicing entrepreneurship;
  • Apply their skills in teamwork;
  • Demonstrate presentation skills and ability to communicate solutions to different stakeholders.

  • Develop a personal network with students from different faculties.
There are no specific costs for this programme, other than the regular semester registration fee and costs related to acquiring course literature.
The course will have a mix of lectures and group work with practical exercises. There is a minimum attendance of 80% of the meetings.
The study programme is evaluated annually by questionnaires to students.The evaluations constitute a part of the Universitys quality assurance system.

Portfolio assessment, graded A-F

The exam consists of a portfolio including:

  • Submission of individual work demonstrating the understanding of entrepreneurial skills
  • Individual assignment to demonstrate knowledge on entrepreneurship process and activities
  • Group assignment

The individual work / reflection is a take-home exam.

The individual exam based on case studies must be answered without aid.

Generating an answer using ChatGPT or similar artificial intelligence and submitting it wholly or partially as one's own answer is considered cheating.
