Internship in Aquaculture management

HAV2005
Internship in relevant aquaculture company for 15 weeks. The student participates in the daily work of the company, thus gaining relevant aquaculture experience. The experiences should be shared and discussed with fellow students and teachers through an experience seminar. Internship may be conducted internationally.

Knowledge:

  • Has broad knowledge of the company's production, internal procedures and internal control system.
  • Is familiar with the research and development work in which the company is involved
  • Has knowledge about the company's history, tradition, individuality and place in society

Skills

  • Can apply professional knowledge and relevant results from research and development work to practical and theoretical issues and make informed choices
  • Reflect on your own professional practice and adjust it under supervision
  • Can find, evaluate and refer to information and subjects related to the company's production, and present this to highlight a relevant issue
  • Be able to master relevant professional tools, techniques and expressions

General competence

  • Has insight into aquaculture-relevant issues
  • Can plan and carry out varied work tasks in accordance with current regulations and guidelines
  • Communicate central subject to staff in the company through at least two internal seminars
  • Exchange views and experiences with others with background in aquaculture and thereby contribute to the development of good practice
  • Is familiar with new thinking and innovation processes in the aquaculture industry
Compulsory.
The student participates in the day-to-day work of the company and will thus develop relevant experience from the aquaculture industry. Students must reflect on their own practices, and present this at a reflection seminar.
15 weeks of practice in relevant aquaculture company. The company must be approved by the faculty before the start of the internship. Practice guidance is to be followed and the report must be delivered within the deadline. The company will approve the internship after the completed practice period.
