The student must document participation in the following course in order to gain access to the course HAV2009 Aquaculture Economics:
• HAV2000 Production of salmonids
• ECO1002 Business Economics analysis with Relevant Computer Software.
• Digital tools and associated work requirements: Only 3rd year Aquaculture Management students are given the necessary licenses.

Knowledge:
•Knowledge of the finance function's role and place in the fish farming business
•Have basic knowledge about financial accounting
•Know the reputable, general and specific principles and methods for cost calculation
•Hold knowledge of productions planning and budgets Knowledge of framework conditions and biological, economic, and practical limitations for the preparation of good, realistic production schedules
• The knowledge of the production schedules and the connection between the production plans, accounting, budgets, valuation and investment analysis
Skills:
•Make profitability analysis and solve relevant issues a management decision making
•Be able to make the accounting review of live fish stocks (biomass).
•Be able to develop good, realistic production schedules for typical operating units in fish farming. Be able to work out the results, liquidity and balance the budget for the typical operating units in fish farming.
• Be able to make monitor actual production costs and make performance measurement at the fish generation level.
General competence:
•Practice in written presentations
•Know how to use spreadsheets to solve assignments.
•Can apply production planning- and budgeting models used by firms the Aquacuture Industry

Engelsk:
The teaching is given as lectures, and group tasks (portfolio). One mandatory seminar over 2 days related to production planning- and budgeting models. Teaching: Face-to-face teaching. Lectures up to 8 hours per week (blocks).
