HHN Internship Master (7,5 ECTS)

LED5024

The purpose of internship is to provide the student with relevant work experience as an integral part of the studies and before graduation. The internship creates professional networks before graduation and gives both the student and the host organization a unique opportunity for co-creation and skill development.

In this subject, the student must work in a private or public organization locally, regionally or internationally. The Business School has its own website where we advertise internship opportunities that students can apply for. Students apply directly to the host organizations by submitting a motivation letter and CV. If the students find organizations on their own that they want to be associated with, the students or the organizations can contact the course manager for the HHN Internship Master to enter into a collaboration on internship. Such an agreement must be approved by HHN.

A separate website and handbook has been developed for this course, which sets the framework for the internship at the host organization.https://site.nord.no/hhninternship/

After completing the course, students should have acquired the following learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

  • Has advanced knowledge of how theories from economic and administrative disciplines are connected with real life business cases.
  • Acquire new knowledge about business economic topics and issues in real situations in working life.

Skills:

  • Can apply the theoretical knowledge and methodological skills acquired through the bachelor's and master's studies in practice.
  • Can contribute to solving complexities and challenges in an organization based on scientific analyses.

General competence:

  • Can reflect and assess knowledge and competence acquired during study in the perspective of practice.
  • Work experience that is relevant to the education.
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies. These evaluations are included in the universitys quality assurance system.
Requirements regarding the number of hours at the host organization must be met, and considered as compulsory participation (Approved/not approved). Finally, an individual assignment must be submitted (Pass/fail). Both forms of assessment must be approved/passed in order to receive a final assessment in the subject.
