ORG1001
The course provides an introduction to basic organizational theory and working- and leader psychology. The course highlights the organizations' internal life and its relationship to its surroundings. These processes are examined from various angles on the basis of the conceptual enterprise model.

Knowledge

The candidate should have:

  • knowledge of basic organizational theory and essential union-related topics
  • knowledge of key concepts and models that deal with various aspects of an organization that stakeholders and environment, structure and culture, motivation, leadership and change.

Skills

The candidate should have:

  • the ability to analyze fundamental union-related issues and discuss possible solutions
  • the ability to discuss practice related issues and phenomena using relevant theory

General competence

The candidate should have:

  • the ability in writing to convey key subject matter of organizational discipline topic areas
  • the ability to put specific issues and phenomena in perspective through critical use of organizational theory
Paid semester fee and syllabus literature. It is also required that students have a laptop at their disposal.
Compulsory
Lecture, learning support materials in an electronic classroom.
The study programme is evaluated annually by students by way of course evaluation studies. These evaluations are included in the university's quality assurance system.
