The student should have:

• knowledge of strategic analysis and analytic tools
• knowledge of strategy development, strategic management and decision making
• knowledge of innovating business models
• knowledge of appropriate tools for business advice
• knowledge of various consultant roles
• knowledge og development and implementation of a consulting assignment

Skills

The student should be able to understand and:

• identify different advisor roles and see their own role: as an expert, finance / business consultant and process consultant
• identify ethical dilemmas one will meet as a management consultant
• identify economic danger signals in enterprises
• review the principal need for problem solving
• use elemental strategic analytical methods (internal and external factors)
• create a project description for a consulting project

General competence

The student should be able to:

• work independently and in cooperation with others as a consultant / advisor to a project based on an engineering problem and with external clients
• discuss technical issues in relation to practical case
• compose an independent written work individually or in groups
