The course will provide knowledge about and develop the student's ability to assess and discuss the topicality of recent research related to current topics in speech therapy.
The course will provide knowledge about and develop the student's ability to assess and discuss the topicality of recent research related to current topics in speech therapy. The topics presented may be related to speech therapy in general or be more directed towards the different areas of speech therapy.

Knowledge
The student
- has in-depth knowledge of current research associated with speech therapy relating to their own master's project.
- has in-depth knowledge of current theories associated with speech therapy relating to their own master's project.
- has insight into national and international guidelines that are relevant to speech therapy and to their own specialisation through the master's thesis.
Skills
The student
- is able to analyse and relate critically to various sources of information and use them to structure and formulate academic rationales within the field of speech therapy.
- is able to find relevant research through searches for printed texts and in digital databases, nationally and internationally relevant to both the practice of speech therapy and in connection with their own master's project.
- is able to select current theory and research of relevance to their own master's specialisation in adapted training.
General competence
The student
- is able to apply their own skills in competence development.
- can apply their knowledge and skills in new areas to carry out advanced tasks and projects relevant to the field of speech therapy and to their own specialisation through the master's thesis.
Compulsory
A selection of short courses of varying content, practical introduction to literature searches and discussions in plenary sessions and groups, as well as self-study under the supervision of the assigned supervisor.
The programme of study is evaluated annually by the students through course surveys (mid-term evaluation and final evaluation). These evaluations are part of the University’s quality assurance system.
Compound assessment: All units described below must be approved and passed in order to pass the whole course.
Compulsory participation: Compulsory participation in teaching is assessed as approved/not approved. There is an 80% participation requirement. Represents 0/100 of the grade.
Assessment tasks: Elective reading, represents 0/100 of the grade, assessed as approved/not approved
Written assignment: Literature review relevant to own master's project, assessed as pass/fail, represents 100/100 of the grade.
