Marcel Köhler joined Nord University/ Vesterålen in 2022. His research focuses on pedagogy and didactics as well as interdisciplinarity and internationalization of nursing and health care professions. Further focal points are professional and university didactic qualification research as well as institutional teaching/learning processes. Marcel was professor for nursing and health at the University of Applied Sciences Dresden (FHD)/Germany from 2019-2022. Before this, he conducted research and teaching for more than 9 years at the Institute for Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics at the Technical University of Dresden/Germany. He taught in the Institute's German- and English-language degree programs and coordinated national and international projects with stays abroad in China, Thailand, and Laos, among other places.

Marcel is a qualified Senior Teacher for Vocational Schools in the field of Nursing and Health Care and a state-approved nurse. He received his PhD in the field of vocational pedagogy and didactics. Additionally, he holds a Master Degree in General Management (MBA) and is an International Engineering Educator (Ing.Paed.IGIP).
