Research Committee

The Research Committee is an advisory body for the university management in all matters pertaining to research in the broadest sense.

The Research Committee is chaired by the pro-rector for Research and Development, and the other members are the five pro-deans for Research at Nord University’s faculties, as well as two PhD representatives from two of the university’s PhD programs. The two PhD programs represented in the committee alternate.

Nordland Research Institute and the leader of the Research Ethics Committee have observer status with speaking rights. The Department of Research and Development have the secretarial function.

The chair of the committee is Ketil Eiane.

    1. The Research Committee is an advisory body for the rector in all matters related to research in a broad sense.
    2. The Research Committee shall be a driving force for increased research and scientific publication at the university and implement measures for this purpose.
    3. The Research Committee shall develop an action plan that is reviewed annually and submit an annual report to the rector.
    4. The Research Committee shall stimulate interdisciplinary research collaboration.
    5. The Research Committee shall have close contact with the faculties with the aim of external profiling of the university's research.
    6. The Research Committee shall work to ensure that research results are communicated to users and the public in a purposeful way.
    7. The Research Committee appoints members to the research ethics committee.
    8. The Publications Committee is subordinate to the Research Committee.
    9. The Research Committee has a special responsibility to provide advice on matters related to researcher education, researcher recruitment, and international research collaboration.
    10. The Research Committee shall work to ensure the quality of research and researcher education and strengthen the research culture at the university.
